Paua Shell Lucky Eight '8' Pendant with Chain
This is an exquisite Paua Shell Pendant in the shape of the figure Eight. One of the circles of the Eight is inlaid with stunning iridescent Paua, the Maori name for three species of large edible sea snails whilst the other is encrusted with sparkling diamond-like clear crystals. Swirling with the colors of the Paua, this elegant ornament is awash with vivid blues, greens, and violets that seem to shift and change with the light. Complemented by the brilliance and dazzle of the clear crystals, the result is an amazingly stunning and auspicious Number Eight Pendant.
The number 8 is widely regarded as a universally lucky number and is believed to be extremely auspicious in Feng Shui applications. It has long been revered by the Chinese as it signifies endless or continuous prosperity. This belief is closely associated with the sound of 8, "Fatt", which means Prosperity and Abundance. Also, on its side, the figure 8 looks like the universal symbol of Infinity. Therefore, putting these two together, we have the symbolic meaning of "Endless Prosperity". What makes the number 8 even more auspicious is that we are now in the 20 year cycle of the number 8. This cycle began in the lunar year of 2004 and will run through 2024.
