The HRIH Seed Syllable
The HRIH Seed Syllable
HRIH is the Bijakshara (Seed Syllable) of Amitabha Buddha. It is also the Seed Syllable of Avalokiteshvara in the Tibetan Tradition. Therefore, HRIH can be considered symbolically to represent Amitabha Buddha and / or Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. It is usually incorporated into the last syllabus of the 6 syllable mantra OM MANI PADME HUM to emphasize the mantra character of the other six syllables, encapsulating their essence.

According to The Legends of Chinese Zodiac Animals, each year is named after an animal, whose nature, attributes and behavior are supposed to express the qualities of that period, and therefore, of those born during that period. Each cycle begins with the year of the rat and the order of the animals, which rule each consecutive year, is: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. This 12 Zodiac pendant will help you harness the best qualities that are symbolic of each of these animal signs.

OM MANI PADME HUM is probably the most famous mantra in Buddhism. It is the six syllable mantra of the Bodhisattva of Compassion, Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan Chenrezig, Chinese Guanyin) that helps to achieve perfection in the practice of generosity, pure ethics, tolerance, perseverance, concentration and wisdom. Mantras are actually powerful scriptures that invoke spiritual guardians or divine help in times of need and are sacred version of positive affirmations that work wonders in times of uncertainty, danger and weakness. This mantra has the power to bless the heart and mind of any who come into contact with it. Its special benefit is to uncover and foster the compassion innate in all beings. The mantra OM MANI PADME HUM is easy to recite yet powerful, because it contains the essence of the entire teachings of Buddha. Through contact with and, especially, meditation on this mantra of compassion, positive qualities are developed and so, happiness naturally increases in one's life.

The Eight Auspicious Objects, known in Sanskrit as Ashtamangala (ashta meaning eight and mangala meaning auspicious) are the central symbols of Tibetan Buddhism. Each symbol represents an aspect of Buddhist teaching and when they appear together, their powers are multiplied. The eight auspicious symbols of Tibetan Buddhism consist of: a parasol, a pair of fishes, a treasure vase, a lotus, a white-spiraling conch shell, an endless knot, a victory banner, and a golden wheel.
