General Outlook & Important Updates of Feng Shui in 2014

As in the endless cycle of time, we will soon bid farewell to 2013 to usher in 2014. And the Wood Horse will take over from the Snake as the Zodiac animal of the year.

The New Year is a good time to make some Feng Shui changes in your home or place of work to ensure that you and your loved ones will continue to be constantly surrounded with positive energy, good fortune, and harmony. The widely celebrated Lunar New Year falls on 31st January 2014 but as far as Classical Feng Shui is concerned; the New Year doesn't begin until the first day of the Chinese Solar year which varies from 3rd to 5th of February every year. In 2014 the Chinese Solar year begins on February 4th at 06:27am local time. That will be the time when the annual Feng Shui energy shift occurs, affecting the energy patterns of each and every building and its surroundings

The Wood Horse gallops into 2014 with it a fresh wave of energy for everybody. Being very much a Fire year, those born in the years of the Horse and Snake (Fire signs) will be thrust into the limelight. Like a strong galloping horse, the Fire energy may be powerful but easily spent. So it is the focused and determined risk takers who will enjoy the greatest measure of success.

The Paht Chee Chart of 2014 denotes a rather unbalanced year with the Fire element overwhelming the chart. In fact there are only 3 elements – Fire, Wood & Metal. Earth and Water are missing. Of these 2 missing elements, Earth is the more favorable for enhancing one’s Feng Shui in 2014. Besides helping to reduce the Fire energy without extinguishing it (as Water does), it is the super element which brings abundance and success. So remember to display more crystals in your home and wear gemstones to energize your good fortune.

The astrological stars of 2014 do not look too promising, being more afflictive than beneficial in nature. All the stars are basically related to relationships – Star of Aggressive Swords, Star of External Flower of Romance and Star of the Peach Blossom. As its name implies, the Star of Aggressive Sword makes its appearance to bring animosity and violence. So do watch your temper and look out for unreasonable and aggressive behavior of others. Relationship problems could also increase due to the presence of the Star of External Flower of Romance. Love relationships which start this year have a high tendency to end in heartbreaks. Wear or carry protective amulets to safeguard yourself from harm. The Star of Peach Blossom is supposed to bring love and matrimonial luck all round but unfortunately, its strength is too weak to be of any significant impact. The redeeming factor is that the 2014 Flying Star Chart is ruled by the #4 Romance and Scholastic Star. This brings the peach blossom effect into prominence for the year. Those wanting to strengthen love or academic luck can place symbols of love or scholastic enhancers in the centre of your home.

Star of Aggressive Sword

Tension and unrest indicated.

Star of External Flower Romance

Watch out for heartbreaks.

Star of the Peach Blossom

Nice, but too weak in 2014.

Due to the cyclical nature of Feng Shui energies, it is recommended that everyone carry out annual updates to avoid clashing with negative energy combinations that contribute to health, relationship and/or financial problems whilst not missing out on the beneficial energies. One of the basic rules is to identify the annual Flying Stars locations so that the relevant cures and enhancers can be put in place before the New Year. Our Feng Shui 2014 Flying Star Kit is a convenient “all in one” pack just for this purpose. It is best to be prepared in advance so that the damaging energy can be curbed before they have to chance to create problems. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure.

Hence, good Feng Shui practice stresses that all problematic energies or Sha Qi or afflictions of the year be taken care of before all else. The major afflictions in any given year would be:

Together with the no-so-friendly flying stars namely,

  • #2 Illness Star
