Description

This is a beautiful golden representation of the Thousand-Hand Kuan Yin (Goddess of Mercy and Compassion). It seats serenely in a lotus position with hands clasped in prayer. It is a uniquely designed piece with a double-sided image, that is, the back and front displaying the same image. This would offer more flexibility in your choice of display location and position. The glass base has a cavity with a small hole on top of it. You can fill in your favourite fragrance or perfume into the cavity to keep your space smelling nice.

Kuan Yin with a thousand arms with which to scatter blessings represents the omnipresent mother, looking in all directions simultaneously, sensing the afflictions of humanity and extending her many arms to alleviate them with infinite expressions of her mercy. There are a thousand eyes on these hands which give Kuan Yin great powers to observe the world and see anyone who may be in need.

Commonly known to the Chinese as Kuan Yin as the Goddess of Mercy (or Kwan Yin, Quan Yin, Guan Yin), she is the most popular of the deity on Chinese altars, trusted and loved by all Chinese people. Her name is short for Kuan Shi Yin. Kuan means to observe, watch, or monitor; Shi means the world; Yin means sounds, specifically sounds of those who suffer.

Thus, Kuan Yin is a compassionate being who watches for, and responds to, the people in the world who cry out for help. Many Buddhist scriptures state that one can invoke Kuan Yin’s assistance by simply calling out her name; people feel that this bodhisattva is very approachable. “One Who Hears the Cries of the World”, she hears those who call upon her. She helps them even to lead them to the peace and happiness of the Western Heaven. Kuan Yin is a saviour with boundless compassion, a comforter of the sick, lost, senile, frightened and unfortunate.

Kuan Yin’s main attraction for people lies in her efforts to eliminate suffering. Also, it makes people live in peace and harmony. This kind of immediate benefit and the ability to receive protection or help simply by calling the bodhisattva’s name. Similar to children receiving an instant reply when calling their mother, also has contributed to Kuan Yin’s great popularity.

Kuan Yin picture or statue in your house brings loads of good luck. Besides, it brings protection to the household and family. Place this Kuan Yin facing the main entrance of your home to bless you and your family with peace, protection, happiness and safety.
