Description
This Medallion designed into a keychain has the image of the Taoist Door Guardians with Crossed Swords and a Celestial Tortoise embossed on one side. All these are excellent symbols of protection from mishaps and disasters, natural or manmade.
The Door Guardians or Door Gods are the earliest gods worshipped by the Chinese and are usually found in Chinese temples and homes. According to the legend, the Door Guardians were formerly imperial generals assigned to protect the Emperor during the Tang dynasty from ghosts and demons. Depicted as ancient Chinese Imperial Generals in full military regalia, they have ferocious countenance. It is the belief that these guardians dispel bad luck and prevent roaming spirits from entering the house thus protecting the inhabitants within.
On the reverse side of the medallion are the Lo Shu numbers combined with the Yang Pakua to attract good luck and shield one from all sorts of bad luck.
