Description
This is a miniature replica of a Buddhism Dharma Wheel. Deers are on the roof of Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, Tibet.
The eight-spoked Dharma Wheel is used internationally by Buddhists of all sects. Also known as the Wheel of Life. It represents the turning of the wheel of truth. Besides, it illustrates the law of karma, cause and effect and the wheel of life and death on which all unenlightened beings trapped.
The spokes represent the noble eightfold path of Right view, Right intention, Right speech, Right action, Right livelihood, Right effort, Right mindfulness and Right concentration.
The deers are references to the fact that the Buddha gave his first teachings in a deer park in India.
